thanks for the info.. i really am glad you guys are here to help. i am pissed at these mod-chip sites though.. i didn't realize that mod 2.2 supported dvd-r backups... i bought a neo-4 because i have a v1 ps2... now this is going to be a bitch to install.. i have great soldering skills. but that really sucks.. also i read that lik-sing doesn't ship to the us.. for now. different sites have different stories on what a mod-chip will do..so does the 2.2 mod support dvd-r backup's? thanks guys.. i will be on this site allot.. so keep an eye out for me bro"s s2j

NEO2.2 supports DVD-R via a double swap mechanism. Full instructions are here:
http://www.consolesource.com/install...-mod/usage.htm Install instructions are on that site too. Ensure that the capacitor is installed at pin 2 so that your laser doesn't fry. Search this forum for a post from Arakon that deals with this subject in greater detail.
