monsters inc question?

Have got a monsters inc copy for me ankle biters,and want to back it up before it gets wrecked.
Have looked at the previous posts and someone has reported that they backed up theres using clone cd etc,but once they have got a bronze medal at the firststage thegame locks up on loading??
Do any of you peeps know if the uk/euro pal version has mod chip protection??,
Have checked all the sites i know of and nothing has ben reported as yet.(The nstc version is reported as mod free)
Any help appreciated
