Bit of help making backups?

I have cloneCD 3.3.4.1 with "amplify weak sector" option enabled and the following cd rom devices:

AOpen DVD1648/AMH firmware revision R13
Iomega/Plextor 12x10x32a firmware revision 1.09

I need some basic options and defaults for backing up games into an image that would work successfully without any hangups, I need to know which drive is better to use and just some basic knowledge

Thanks in advance.

have a flick thru the forum matey, and check out the main page of this site, all the info is here if you look.

what games do you want to back up ?

there are various methods of making back ups, all depends on what protection the game has, the cd writer you have and whether its clone compatible and a whole host of other bits n pieces.

i learnt by trial and error and just having a go, but a good start is to download a copy protection detection program such as clony xL and the latest clone cd and take it from there. nearly all the patches you need are here and many of the older games that are like safedisc or cd checks protected you can just make 1:1 copies of without patching ( depending on your burner again ), many of the newer games have safedisc v2 which isnt impossible to get around but will normally need a patch to defeat the protection.

you'll burn a few drinks coasters along the way but have a good read thru the forums and info thats on this great site and have fun m8.

hope this helps.
