What is wrong with my new Plextor 12/10/32??

Hi
I've just brought a plextor 12/10/32 CDRW today and installed it into my machine...bios and windows seem to have picked it up...so far so good??
NO...when i actually go to access the new drive via programs like Explorer, My Computer, Control Panel and such...nuffin happens and my startup menu hangs!!
Tried it in DOS prompt to access the drive...and DOS prompt hangs(doesnt even say read drive error or such when u pretend to access a fake drive).
My system specs are:
P3@850
CUSL2 mobo
128MB RAM
30GB IBM
GTS 2
got more than this but I've stripped everything out incase it was any conflicts.
Tried everything out...wasnt faulty cables...drive is getting power source..
It just wont access disc at all...could this be a faulty drive or my system?? At the mo..i gave it to a friend to try out on his pc...

power

I would say you have to buy a minimum of 300 because a GTS2 and pentium 850 need much power and when you say you have other stuff inside buy a new.

Don't panic...a new power supply is cheap. You can get them at almost any large computer outlet or online all over the place.
