PLAYING CDRs on DVD
I had the problem with a stand alone APEX DVD. It won't play MUSIC CDRs. I'm wondering if it is a COPY PROTECTION scheme of some sort. Also I'm using a 4X cd burner RICOH MP8040SE at max speed. Maybe at 2X it will burn deeper? I'm using the EASY CD software that came with it. For those that don't know ADAPTEC BOUGHT OUT THE ORIGINAL COREL CD RECORDING SOFTWARE WHICH WAS ORIGINALLY 500$ SOFTWARE for creating CDs (about 3 or 4 years ago) ADAPTEC renamed it "EASY CD" What I'm trying to say is that this is supposed to be SERIOUS CD software

Can your DVD player play VCD discs? Perhasp your player isn't compatible with blank cd-r media. Also, do these audio cd's play in domestic hi-fi units? If they do, it's more than likely you DVD player that's at fault.
You could try the latest version of your cd-writing software; Easy Cd 4.2 Deluxe or Nero 5.03. If you use older software you may be burning to an older cd-standard, I don't know for sure. Sorry I can't help ya out more, all the best. |

Your player is probably incompatible with CDRs. Specifically many players are incompatible with TDK and Verbatim, so try Postech, Ritek, Princo or Gigastorage. Also have a go with a high-quality CDRW.
