What ver of GS is needed for 30001R V4?

I have a v1.9 GS that does not work with my 30001R V4 PS2? I read on the GS website that if a PS2 has a date code of "1C", which mine has, that I will need a newer version. Does anybody know what the lowest version that will work on this PS2 is? This info is not available on the GS website.

The impossible to get 1.93 I believe. I hope someone can confirm this.

i got v4r
i need no ar at all

serious now u can load any origanal ar then a backup of 1.9 then carry on as normal
is extra swap but its better then no dvdr

I've since got a v2.0 to work, and it boots CDR's just fine. I don't have any DVDR's to try, but I'm hearing that a v2.0 GS won't boot DVDR's. Is this true. I'm thinking of trying to get a v1.93 or 1.99 or 1.99b off of Ebay. Which version would work best with a Neo 2.5 DVD-key on the V4R?
