Help backing up my childrens "The Sims"

I have had a burner since they pretty much came out so I am not totally a rookie, I have had a lot of sucess with it in copying in the past. I am merely trying to make a backup copy of my childrens "The Sims" they got for Christmas. I use Adaptec Easy CD and it shows it to be a good copy but the game will not work. I have copied the CD to my HD first and still won't work. My burner is a "Actima" ARW 4420 CD-RW Drive. It is a 4x4x20. I know the games now are more sofisticated and are harder to copy, so I would appreciate any help and all details needed to accomplish this task to make a (Working) copy of The Sims. Thanks in advance! :>))

i'm a small burner too. and i had burned the sims really 20 times. you have to use clonecd. avery good burning software. you can download the newest version at www.elby.de .
the problem is that this software doesn't work with all writers. i think you should download clone cd and try it out. if it doesn't work i have another idea. you can write back when it doesn't work.
sorry my english isn't very good
i'm a german :-)

Thanks Mot. As of this time, I did a copy and it would not work. I am going to try and copy the Sims to my HD and try it again. I will get back to you then with the results. I got my fingers crossed! It sure looks a lot different than Easy cd.
Ciao!

#1: Posting this in the PC games section of the forum would help you more than posting it in the Playstation section.
#2: The Sims uses ..umm..Safedisk..if my memory serves me correctly. Adaptec's software won't do squat. You'll need a program called 'CloneCD' (if your burner is supported in RAW reading that is). Failing that, the program Blind Write/Read. Failing that - your up the creek...

I copied the sims with no trouble......once you copy it.....install it then you need to get the patch for the game to run off of your new copy...

Use the patch as specified in its *.nfo file and away you go......

Usualy, you copy the patched file into the games installed directory on your hard drive, overwriting the old one
