DVDRX does not provide the second bite of the cherry for swap purposes that Action Replay 2 or Gameshark 2 provide. So it has to be with AR2 or GS2 that you can boot DVD-Rs.

Procedure: This method requires you to use an original PS2 DVD, and also either a GS2 v1.9 (USA) or AR2 v1.7 (PAL) CD.

1) Turn on the ps2 with GS2 v1.9 / AR2 v1.7 (holding down the ON/RESET).

2) Select Start Game (Still Holding ON/Reset).

3) Press EJECT (while still holding the ON/RESET button) and swap GS2 v1.9 / AR2 v1.7 with PS2 ORIGINAL DVD.

4) Press EJECT to close (Wait 10 seconds).

5) Then select WITHOUT CODES. Wait until disc stops.

6) Now let go of reset and the tray comes out, swap PS2 ORIGINAL DVD** for a back-up DVD-R and press X just as the tray starts to go back in (IMPORTANT)!

NOTE: An 8-wire mod-chip is REQUIRED to do this (using it's "tray opener" function described above) or a PS2 DVD-Key (5-wire mod-chip). **In addition, please be aware that the DVD ORIGINAL DVD MUST have a bigger TOC than your back-up DVD-R!

dvd-r boot using neo2.2 & AR2 V2.2

ive got this far: i have done the dave mirras pro bmx meathod and the dvd boots to the screen where it gives me two options : a mem card and a playstatio game (this option is on the ps2 built in software). is this because the TOC of my original is too small? i would check it only i have no DVD rom drive on my pc
