help copying cd's
Please help me I want to make a copy of a cd I have so I have a backup. I don't even know where to start. I have Adaptecs easy cd creator and have tried to use that but it still asks me to "insert cd" when trying to run the game. The game in question is The Sims. I have tried researching this but get more confused. What is a patch?, a crack? do i need to download one of these. Please help me someone.

First of all get rid of that EasyCD Creator it sux a##. But I think what your problem was is when you drag your files to the the new window that is going to be copied you have to rename the CD to the 'EXACT' name that you see of the original. Just right click on the CD title of the new window, which happens to be the present date instead of the name of the CD, and rename it. So when you burn the game it looks for the CD title first and when it cant see it it asks you for the CD. So now that its rename to be the same you should be good to go. A couple of programs I use are Nero, CDRwin, and Feurio. Nero and CDRwin for copying games and Feurio for music. Check out this site for all you need there. www.cdrsoft.net/cdrsoft.html Good Luck

download unSafeDisc 1.5.5
install the game form the originall copy all the files on the cd to your hard drive use unSafeDisc to 'unrap' the ?.icd file in your games install directory, with the originall cd in your cd drive This will create an unrapped executable Delete the original installed executable and rename the 'new' executable to the installed ones name. Now copy this file to the folder with your cd contents and replace the original executable with the new one. Burn with Easy Cd Creator with the same name Good luck driver_king**********com |
