Problems patching Madden 2001

I just installed my usb mod chip and I'm trying to make a backup of my Madden 2001 using a patch from (www.ps2ownz.com) However everytime i use the ppf patcher it says that the bin is a different size than the patch was written for. I have tried different patches and they all say the same thing. If i patch it anyway then the burner has a write error after it gets to about 75% completed!!! Please help someone.

i backed up madden 2001 with out no prob and it doesnt need any patch well i didnt use one and mine work 100% with no probs
