How can i copy rugby 2001 to another CD

Is there anyway that i can copy EA sport rugby 2001, when i try to copy it my cd writter comes up with the message "this devive is not connected etc." I have this problem with all the modern games when i try to copy them. Can someone please help and explain what to do and how to do it in detail. E mail me if you wanr just please tell me how to break these codes it is getting on my nerves.
