Are subchannel tracks really needed in order to use backup??
I am having trouble using Clone CD with my burner. I spent good money on the damn thing...so getting rid of it is not the idea. It will not read subchannel data tracks. My question is will the backup game still work if I make the copy without the subchannel tracks??? Is it possible to play this game with a boot disc or is a chip the best way?? Please help!

if the game is not protected it will work but if it is protected u will need to patch it! An internal mod-chip would be the better way to go!

To make a working copy of a psx game, u need cdrwin and ppf-o-matic.
Firstly create an image (.bin and .cue) using cdrwin. Then go to www.gamecopyworld.com in the psx patch section or to www.megagames.com in the game fixes section and download the appropriate patch to your game (make sure that you have the rigth version -ntsc (us and canada) or pal (europe)- Afterwards apply the patch to the .cue using ppf-o-matic Finally burn the patched .cue (.bin) using cdrwin This way, if u have a mod chip the game will work fine
