PS2 PAL v4R BOARDS

Is anyone aware of the differences between v4 and v4R boards? The latter is a 30003R which is not a v5 (by reference to the v5 photos) and isn't an classic v4 either, differences being around the area where you would attach de-green or macrovision defeat points.

Observations welcome.

This is in relation to our unsuccessful attempt to install the Elvis Messiah Clone on a 4v4R board.

Charlie, i have a 30003R model and was going to install the NEO4 chip, fortunately i had an email from WWW.KANECTION.CO.UK saying the NEO4 would not work on any model with an R at the end of the model type.
So, i installed a NEO 2.2 using the V4 diagram from kanections website, this in conjunction with AR2v2 cd works a treat, was very tricky to solder some of the points though and boy was i getting in a bit of a sweat carrying this out !........the thought of blowing £199 was a bit worrying but i took my time , had prepared properly and most of all locked myself away from telephones the wife and CHILDREN !!!!!

By the way Charlie, interesting reading your posts.

cheers,

Daz.
