DISC SWAP WITH MOD CHIP AND CD EXCHANGER TAG FITTED

I have a PS1 with modchip fitted. The door mechanism is also fitted with the little stick down tag from a CD exchanger (now mostly redundant).

On playing multi disc games EG alone in the dark the PS1 doesn't recognise when i change discs, does anyone know how to get around this or do I have to remove the stick down tag from the door mechanism. Just want some idea before I knacker the tag up.

you have to remove the tag as it wont realise otherwise the same with driver2
