Audio Problems (HP 8200e)

Hello, I have a problem when trying to backup my PSX games. I have a hp 8200e cd-r and a Liteon (52x) Cd-rom drive. I used to be able to backup games perfectly, but gradually the audio in the backups started to get skippy, older copied games still playing perfectly. I have gotten rid of all the programs running in the backround with no success. I use adaptec CD-copy, but I have also tried all the other cd-copiers (CDClone,CDRWin, Nero, etc.) but all the backups have excessive skipping in the audio. If anybody knows how to fix this problem or has had similar troubles your response would be most appreciated,
Johnny Kay

first of all get rid of adeptec its crap wipe it off your system cos it can interfere with other progs (i had this problem when i first started) use clonecd or cdrwin copy at a slower speed "1x or 2x" and you should be ok

8-) good luk & appy burning

Hi,

You dont need to wipe the adaptec stuff off, if it does give you gip just stop the easycd process.

It could be a media problem, my PS1 is one of the first batches of them (4 years ago) and i had allsorts of problems with FMV and music skipping the way i got round it was to change media. I only use Verbatim media now because i never have any of those problems anymore.

I also have a HP 8200i writer and burn at full speed. Check out Deanos website www.psxcopyworld.co.uk on there you will find Tutorials on how to use CLONE CD (thats what i use) you can also download a trail version from there website, also make sure your writer is 100% compatible with CLONE CD look in the FAQs.

CDR-Win is another good piece of software for making backups, but your writer has to be compatible

I also create the image using my writer not my cd reader!!!!

Give that a go and let me know

Dal

I use an HP8100 series burner and have never had any probs with audio skipping.

A already mentioned i would also suggest removing the adaptec software and use CDRWin with a 4x read and 2x write.

Warlock is on a distinguished road
Do you have a modchip or a plugmod?? It is common for the audio to skip when using a plugmod...Also as mentioned above, Dump the adaptec easy coaster creator.

I have a mod chip and other copied games work fine. I've tried using cdrwin at 4x2x and it still skipped. I've tried almost every bit of media, except verbatim (which I'll try), Memorex, and imation because I thought they where subpar. But what I didn't try is using cdrwin without having adaptec installed on my computer, plus I'm thinking it might be cd-rom related since my cd-rom is a piece of crap that you can't get drives for unless you speak chinese. So, I'll try that. If anyone has any other ideas it would be nice to hear them. Also, a many thanks to the people who replied. I'm on many other forums and you never get this type of a response on a technical question. Thanks, Johnny Kay
