Does your PS2 scratch your CDs/DVDs?

As read here, ####://www.theregister.co.uk/content/archive/16044.html

I was curious if we can conduct some sort of POLL in here to determine the version of the faulty PS2's.

Does your PS2 scratch your CD's/DVD's?

Please inform of your PS2 version and purchase date / location if possible as well.

Thanks!

BOT is on a distinguished road
Somewhat old news resurfaced.
Sony recalled a lot of early models for this very problem.

In fact I was curious if having a PAL v3 PS2 which I just bought 3 weeks ago are good news or not, given the fact there are v5 versions floating around already!
