Burning Question

I just copied a game (gameday 2k2) with cdrwin. When I try to play it, it won't ####t. It spins for a while then stops and spins some more. I am familiar with the "your console has been modified" screen but this is a first for me. I am still very new at this. Do I need a patch? Or isit somethig else that is wrong? Is this some form of copyright protection too? Please help!! Thanx.

Hi,

If its coming up saying you have a modded Playstation then check out www.megagames.com they may have a patch for that game which will turn off the protection everytime you boot that backup.

Deano or Charlie, know more about patches then i do!!!!

Cheers

It doesn't say my console has been modified. I do understand that means you need a patch. This particular game (gameday 2k2) spins then stops then spins again bu won't boot. Is ths a different type of protection? I even made a second copy and it does the same thing. Please help. Thanx.

Is this the first time this has happened?

Is you PSX recognising the disc and giving you the PSX logo screen and then go blank?

This doesnt sound like any form of protection, but just a plain booting problem which could be caused by naf media or a miss aligned laser in the PSX, perhaps even the backup was recorded too fast!

I am using the same cd's that I always use and have no problem. CDRWIN says it was successfully created. My other back ups work fine so I don't think it is the psx laser. I am using a "game killer" plugged into the back of the psx.I put in a "real" game, when it stops, I replace it with the back up. A code entry screen comes up asking if I want to ####t game with codes or just ####t regular. I usually just push ####t and the backup will boot. This is where the cd "freezes". I am lost. I re-recorded the game and it does the same thing.

Dont make any more backups of this one as the two you have are probably fine, no that you have mentioned that you have an external plug mod then i think this is the problem.

Do you have a mate that has an internaly moded PSX which you could try your backup on, this would at least prove a point.

No I don't. I don't understand why the other back ups work and this one don't.
