download the auto patch which doesnt require the ppf patcher. read with blindread (make sure you make it into a cdrwin binfile by clicking on the triangle on the bottom right hand side on the second screen). once finished double click the autopatch and tell it where the game has been read to, then click ####t. once you get the sucess message. open blind write and burn your game at half your max write speed. good luck

i have the exact same problem, i have tried blindread/cdrwin/clonecd, also all kinds of patches available for the pal uk version, and none seems to work. i have a pal uk platinum ff8. could it be possible that the platinum ff8's cd image has been altered so that the patches wont apply correctly?

also it'd be interesting to know if knife has a ff8 platinum or the original release?

first you must download boot edit. once done red the cd patch and just before you burn open boot edit and click on europe , then specify where the image is and click "patch",you should get a success message. now open cdrwin and burn.

Good Luck
