Lets say this..... If you have a regular CD-R Burner..... then you can copy PSX games. Thats simple.

right for ####ters you will need a CD-writer and then one of thses two programs.

Clonecd
CDRwin

clonecd is the easiest as when you copy the game you don't have to apply patches to bypass the protection, the only problem with this program is that it only works if your writer is 100% compatible.

CDRWin was designed specially for copying PSX games but with this you need to apply patches to the iamge file you craet to your hard drive before you burn it back to disc.

Hope this ahs gave you an insight ot the world of copying

yes mod chips are designed so that you can play a back-up of your games on the console.

you can also use game cartridges to play back-ups but these you have to do what is known as the swap trick, which to me is a lot of hassle i would rather have my psx chipped.

My friend said that I could get a boot cd or something and then switch to the game without using a modchip. Does anyone know if this is true?
