psx protection

I am very new to this so please bear with me. I just tried burning MLB 2002 and it seemed to burn fine, but when you ####t the game a red circle with an X comes up and it says "software has been terminated, console may have been modified". Is this libcrypt protection? How do I beat it? Thanx in advance.

It detected your modchip.
This is what is called, oddly enough, anti-mod chip protection.

since I am new to this, let me get this right. I downloaded the patch, now I extract it to the image file on my hard drive then burn to cd. Is that correct? Sorry if I seem stupid here, but I have never done this. Thanx again, I really appreciate the help.

Download Ppf-o-matic -
####://www.megagames.com/psx/files/pdx-ppf2.zip
####://cais28.netwhirl.com/psx/files/pdx-ppf2.zip

You must have a .bin/.cue image of the PSX cd created by CDRWin.
Apply the patch, the kal-ml02.ppf file to your bin using Ppf-o-matic, once done you can burn the image.

when I tried to create the .bin and .cue files cdrwin gave me an error saying it could not create the .cue file. Is this because I was using the "burned" copy and need to use the actual game? Thanx again.

I just tried it with the "original" game and got the same error. I am confused. I am using an Acer cd burner. Is this not supported by cdrwin?

With CDRWin just creat the BIN image file and CDRWin will create the CUE file all by itself (CLEVER)

On reading leave all settings as default, but make sure that the RAW box is #####ed and keep the read speeds slow untill you get the hang of it.

When created use PPF-O-Matic to apply the patch.

When you burn, load up the CUE sheet than CDRWin created and set the speed to 2x and click ####T.

For some reason cdrwin keeps giving me an error saying "cdrwin cannot create c:\temp\mlb2002.cue". I am not able to get any further after that. I am really confused. Please help. Thanx.

You do, of course, have a c:\temp directory. Don't you?

Uh...I do now. (boy do I feel dumb) The game burned just fine. I can't thank you guys enough for being so patient with me!! I do have one more question though. I tried applying a patch to a game called Crash Bash, but it wasn't a ppf file. Are there more than one type of patch and do I need to use something else (besides ppf-o-matic) to apply it? Thanx again.
