Best CD reader for on the fly copying

I am thinking of buying the 16x Plextor. I was wondering which is the best CD-ROM reader to match this burner? Will I be able to copy at 16x on the fly?

I havent extensivly tested this but any standard CD-Rom should be able to beat that drive (average drive reads at 20X or higher) just be sure that if you use two IDE CD-Rom's that the are not on the same channel (the same wire) as that will severly harm your on the fly

HI!

Sorry for the offtopic but I notice problems when doing some backups from DVD to the hard drive...

My current set up:

Primary IDE connector: IDE HD1 (UDMA66 Quantum) as master and IDE DVD-ROM (Creative Encore 6x) as slave.

Secondary IDE connector: IDE HD2 (UDMA66 QUantum).

Problem comes when I tell SmartRipper (DVD ripping program) to copy files from DVD to HD2. Computer freezes every 10 seconds, but it copies everything fine. I just can't multitask when ripping a DVD to HD.

Ideas??

Thanks!
