mod chip or smart cartridge

i have a smart cartridge in the port in my psx 1 i have been playing other backups no problem but when i try to play the backups that i have made..it freezes during loading would i be better of with an internal chip

yes (the plug in are crap its hit & miss with plug in mod chips)

I totally agree, get yourself an internal mod chip and you'll be sorted!
