CLONECD BYPASSING PROTECTION??? PLEASE EXPLAIN

I have read that CloneCD bypasses having to patch games apart from modchip recognition. WHat other protecton is there for PSX??
I have a normal modchip (not stealth) so what does it do??

Clonecd is a slightly complicated topic. Go to www.megagames.com/psx and follow the psx utilities link, then follow your nose to clonecd. You need to look up the hardware requirments to see if your drive is supported for reading and writing. If your drive is fully compatible then you can use clonecd to beat the protection on the real tricky copy protection games. If not then you may as well use cdrwin. The only games I know of that can't be copied with cdrwin are spyro 3 and final fantasy 9. If you are not after either of these games then clonecd isn't neccessary. Although it is worth the effort to read up on clonecd, and see if you are supported, as I wish I could use it. Anyway it's you're decision (it doesn't take that much time).

Cheers

Apart from not needing to prat about with patches, if you use clonecd to copy say a PC safedisk game (Not that I would of course , you will be able to download updates etc, which will work because you have not changed the executable files. If you patch, you will have to wait for someone to crack the updates.

Clone is also quick and easy, you can also patch the binaries.

If it works for your hardware try it out.

I can confirm that those settings are correct although some psx games have errors on them as well so ##### the log file while reading and if u c errors stop read, enable fast error skip and start reading again.

No clone cd will copy anti mod protected games perfectly BUT u will need a stealthy mod chip in order to play the games, older chip versions are not able to do that.

No offence but what iis the point of a stealth modchip?
So you dont have to patch games! Is any of this useful to anyone not having a stealth chip?
