How to backup my own (yeah right) pal ps2 backups?

Maybe a stupid question but i tried to copy my own (yeah right) ssx game. I used easy cd creator 4.0 and he copied fine, but the game didn't bootup. I have a action replay 2 and a neo2 modchip. Must the games be patched somehow? I hope someone can help me.
And what to do with a usa ps1 backup on a pal ps2. Must it be patched? Where can i get those patches? I hope someone can help this desperated man.

i don't know a about ps2 games not easy cd creater is crap for copying games try cdrwin or cd clone (but cd clone is best at 100% compatible and not a lot of writers are 100% compatilbe)
