Legend of Dragoon, NTSC, copy assist?

Okay, here's where I stand:

I have a PlexWriter 8/4/32, CDRWIN, a PDX patch/trainer for Legend of Dragoon, and I've burned several PSX games in the past. However, I've never successfully burned a multi-disc game, patch or no patch. I would just try my luck with the patch and try to go ahead with copies, but I'm running low on discs and would like to avoid any more coasters.

These are basically the two questions I have:

1) How do I apply this patch to the game? I'm not good with these patches and having 4 discs only confuses the issue for me.

2) Are there any special steps necessary to burning copies of a multi-disc game? The last one I tried was the GTA: Director's Cut and that failed miserably (although, I didn't have a patch, that could have made the difference).

Any help with this would be much appreciated.
