shilian,
You just cannot do it. It's like having a CD-ROM drive and trying to read a DVD-ROM; it just won't work. The Dreamcast uses customised cd's called GD-ROMS that can only be read by - the Dreamcast! Sega did this to stop people copying the games. Bye. :-) |

What your seeing when you stick it into your CD-ROM is all 10MB of uncompressed data that is ALL your CD-ROM is capable of reading, since the remaining data on the disc is compressed into a format unreadable by ALL CD-ROMs.

Why do dumbass newbies always post stupid questions like that one before ever searching for the answer, which BY THE WAY, can be found in this message board at least a dozen times in the past 6 months, since I actually posted at least that many reples to that effect! The idiots don't even look at the freakiing discs before that ask stupid-assed questions... One quick glance at an original Dreamcast (GD-ROM) disc will answer a lot of questions - it's not a regular CDROM!!!! The gap in the data area, near the center spindle should be a dead giveaway to that fact. The only think your CD-ROM drive (or CD-R/CDRW drive) is going to see is the data between the spindle and that gap. That's nothing more than a boot record. All the important shit is on the outside edge of that gap and no CDRW ever made will read that info. If you want to copy anything from the game, you'll have to rip it using your Dreamcast, a serial cable between the Dreamcast and PC and special software loaded on each. If you have a broadband adapter, you can also do the same thing using a network crossover cable attached between the Dreamcast and the PC, using special software. </SOAPBOX MODE> |
