Can't convert Utopia "Wacky Races" to Self Boot format
I recentley came across a non self-boot version of Wacky Racers, in the past I have used Echelons tutorial to convert these to self-booting.
I have succesfully achieved this in the past but I can't get Wacky Races to work. The CD reports as having 700mb of data, yet when I copy all files from it I only get around 430mb, it doesn't have CDDA Audio as far as I am aware. If I attempt to record this 430mb of Data as a second session on a self boot CD the game appears to start booting, then switches to the DC Menu screen. Can anybody help? |

You're absolutely right. I've done the same thing with the same results.
Also, copying those files to a MODE-2, CDXA disc will create a NON-BOOT disc (I had to since the original disc wouldn't burn properly), but apparently it used a unique dummying method because all of the voice files are out of sync on the disc with the smaller total filesize. |

This might seem more work than it is good, but after you get the hang of it it's not bad at all. Depending on the file format, I would convert it to a BIN file, however it takes to get it there.
I then take the bin and use "bin2boot" to make it self bootable... THEN take that bin and either burn it using CDRWIN, OR if that doesnt work... I convert it to ISO then to CDI and burn with DJ3. I know it sound repetitive, but that is how I got Wacky Races to work...
