CDRWIN no go .. how do I patch protected games?
CDRWIN is not supported by my burner. How do I burn copy protected games for PSX/###ne? I need to know how to apply a patch with another burner package.
Help is greatly appreciated. |

As per BOT's question, you'll need a burner that is fully compatible with CloneCD (DAO-RAW+96) in order to try the following (no guarantees but I've tried it OK at a rudimentary level):
1/ Use CloneCD to take the image to the HDD. Let's call it TTT.ccd. This will produce TTT.ccd (which contains cue type info that can be displayed in Notepad.exe) and TTT.img (the file in which we are interested). If you ticked the Read -Subchannel Data boxes (as you should) then TTT.sub will appear if such data was present. 2/ Having taken the CD game to HDD, rename the IMG file to become TTT.BIN (that might not be required by all patchers). 3/ Run your patcher against the BIN File and then rename the BIN file back to IMG. 4/ Burn the now patched IMG file back to CD-R with CloneCD, which will also correctly assemble sub-channel data into the result if it was present. As I said, no guarantees but if you need to patch a protected game then there aren't too may options for you. |

Thanks Charlie ... it worked but only after I checked Don't repair sub-channel data when burning.
