What are volumes? (in reference to using winrar)

i always get a message when extracting that says I need "volumes" for a particular file

what are they and why don't they come wit the files that you can download

You don't have all the segments for that RAR file. You either have a gap in the numbering somewhere in the middle or at the end.

##### at www.isonews.com to see how many RAR segments that game should have.

sometimes the people uploading the games screw up the volume names. one time i kept getting an error until i realised that there were 2 .r03 files. one was 345kb or some shit and the other was 14.9Mb. i changed the 345kb one to r04 and it worked. ##### the file sizes n stuff.
