Lightbulb Using Toast Only for OSX

No more astarte who can find it anyway. All you need is toast 5.1.4.
1. Open Toast 5.1.4
2. Insert cd to copy.
3. Make sure copy button is highlighted in toast window.
4. The CD's title should be listed (next to the CD icon) and under that should have time and cd-rom xa, and any tracks.
5. Click record.
6. When recording is finished follow prompt to insert recordable disk (CDr).
7. Be sure to record at 1X it's worth it.
7. Click write disc.
8. Let toast verify it takes a second.
9. Play.
The whole process took 15 minutes.
(If there are audio tracks it may open itunes, just quit and be sure that step 4 is what you see in the toast window.)
Haven't tried the dvd's yet.
And oh yea you can buy 100 packs of Hi-Val 1x-16x cd-rs at office depot for free after rebates. They go on sale a few times a year and work great. Check their web site.

For Macs only. Using G4 w/ Super combo drive.

When Backing up DVD games to DVD-r I use Toast 5.1.4, insert the game, and click record on the toast window, and when its done writing It will ask you to insert a blank DVD.
Thats It. Toast 5.1.4 is the best. I even make backups of backups on the cheapest DVD-r Material I can Buy.
Limewire always has Toast 5.1.4 available.

PROBLEMS WITH COPYING DVDS

i only have one drive (super drive) on my G4. So i made a disk image first and copied the dvd game on the disk image. i then dragged the dvd icon on the disk image to the toast window (using toast 5.2 on osx) and burned a copy using a dvdr (fujifilm dvdr's). it doesnt work on the ps2. however i've tried backing up games (cd games) on cdr's and they work fine on the modded ps2. anything i'm doing wrong with copying dvd games? what brand of dvdr's would you recommend? im also in nyc.

thanks a lot!

Ok Here is the step by step:

Using your MAC Super combo drive...........and Mac OSX.

1. Open Toast Titanium v 5.1.4 ( Im sure any later version will work also, but not an earlier one.)
2. Insert game.
3. DVD Player will open, click "Quit DVD Player" from the menu.
4. Click the record button in the toast window. ( It should be red , you should also see the dvd and size in the toast window)
5. When finished reading ( 15 minutes) Game will eject and prompt you to insert a recordable disc. Insert blank DVD-r and close tray.
6. Prompt will alert you to speed make sure it is at 1x DVD.
7. Click " Write Disc ".
8. It will take about 3 minutes before anything happens, be patient. Once it starts writing it will take almost an hour to write and verify the dvd.
9. Eject DVD after finished.
10. If you have the Magic 7 mod you will need to insert the game and press reset after the tray loads.

I have been using really cheap dvd material ( Americal.com DVD-r Item # 702793 really cheap about $50.00 for a cake of 50 DVD-rs.) but i experience some freezing and skipping on the system. Soon I will attempt to find out if Better DVD material will improve this.

Good Luck

Now I see what happened in my earlier post I told you to drag the game to toast. This may have caused the dvd to lose some of its info. The above posting works as I did it while I was writing the step by step. best to experiment on the cheap stuff until you have it down. Sorry about the coaster. I will correct my earlier post.
