Please help! I need help with Operation Flaspoint & Fade
I have made a back up copy of Operation Flashpoint, i have installed the game from this back up copy and have not had any problems. Until i read about the 'Fade' protection on gamecopyworld, then i had my doubts, from the original and from the back up they both have this notice saying that illegal copies arent worth it etc etc.
But i did not encounter a message such as this stated in the article on GCW. The use of FADE(tm) will be displayed during game installation, saying "Original discs don't FADE(tm), in order that players who experience problems will be aware that their CD is potentially an illegal copy. I have only began familirising myself with the game, choosing a quick mission rather than a campaign. Ive just played about an hour or so on this, and no changes in the game have been noticed, although this should be noticed over a long period of time. Please can anyone give me any reassurance. Thanks |

having looked about ive read that FADE doesnt even exist, dont take my word for it though and dont take this in for granted as it actually might exist.
ive had no problems with the back up, maybe FADE was a Hoax to scare people. Maybe Peace . |

I'm not sure if "Fade" is just a clever cover up for buggy software..
But I have witnessed my copy of Op Flash fall apart here and there. In particular, the compass works as it should when first loaded, but, usually after the first re-try or loaded save position, it no longer works. I've also witness the textures blanking out. This happened on the mission where you're alone in the woods. After I noticed my compass failed (which I thought was perhaps bullet gone stray, and destroying my compass as opposed to my aorta), I travelled in what was most likely the "wrong" direction, for a very long time. The screen soon began to falll apart, showing less and less textures as I continued to walk in my set route. I dunno. This also all happened while playing on Win2K Pro, which is reportedly buggy. I've yet to try the patch. ede |
