Far Cry 2 v1.01 work with old nodvd crack?

Hallo.
What happen when i upload the cracked 1.0 to 1.01?
Did i need then a new cracked exe or work it with old FarCry2.exe (cracked)?

using the old exe most likely downgrades the version, making it kind of pointless, unless all the updates are data file related (the chances of this are pretty slim)....

Why a need for crack???
After the game is activated online, there is no need for a crack or a DVD in the unit...

I am using the 1.0 crack with the 1.01 patch. It seem to work fine. The in-game menu says 1.01.

I don't understand you
You complaint about games with PAUL and similar and you refuse to buy them and play it.
You should be the 1st one using cracks to avoid those protection but here you are posting against the use.

I buy my games. That's one. But I hate to pirate them. So I choose to vote with my wallet. I refuse to buy the games using that protection and I refuse to even think about pirating them. I know how much work is put in such a game and I show respect to the actual developpers by not pirating their product. Sadly, for the both parties, I won't buy their product either, despite the reviews and such. When they decide to release a version without that protection or a revoke tool and a clear comitment that in two years the protection will be removed completely, I might buy those games. There were 5 titles from EA, Sacred 2 and Far Cry 2 that I wanted to buy. Their decision saved me quite a few bucks. And with NWN2: Storm Of Zehir, Dungeon Lords 2 and Gothic3: Forsaken Gods coming, the saved money will go on those titles. And I still have some money left to buy meself a few books.

Why? simple:
Company of Heroes: OF uses it from the beginning (2007).
You have to login to play the campaign (even if you just want to play single-player) that's even worst than activation.
With Activation you just do it only 1 time and forget it even exists. While CoH:OF you have to remember all the time you have to login. They know when you login & logout (big brother? maybe). Of course if you don't have internet for some reason, you can use your DVD. They uses Securom and no one complaint about it.
You have only 3 activations (EA puts 5 now)
Am used to that so I think EA DRM is just a water drop in the ocean.

The original Company of Heroes and War40k: Dark Crusade had no protection. THQ removed the protection on the War40k: Dawn Of War and Winter Assault.
Everyone was optimistical and thought that THQ was heading in the right direction. A few changes in management later and they've made the Titan Quest flop, blamed everybody else on the product's poor security(tha game leaked months before release, and the Immortal Throne expansion followed shortly). They've put some nasty triggers in the original game, but those were poorly implemented, so ocasionally apperared to people who actually bought the game. When Iron Lore Studios closed, the THQ manager blamed everyone from the press to the customers in a rather unpleasant mode(hell he even blamed the PC component developpers). At the date COH: OF was released with that protection and War40k: DOW - Soulstorm followed. But if for COH :OF, chances are they will manage to fix the game balance (from what I hear, everyone considers that the MP part of the COH expansion is broken, unbalanced), Soulstorm was a mess, as the game wasn't developped by Relic, but by the already deceased Iron Lore. And Relic was left with a broken puzzle. Which is almost impossible to figure out, as Relic never worked on that expansion.

Are you sure about that? I need to insert the DVD everytime I want to play. So besides the online activation there's also a dvd-check.

I bought the game today and I am not a pirate. I simply hate all CD/DVD checks for games, especially this one considering you have to perform an Internet activation when you first launch the game anyway! Ridiculous to have a DVD check every time...

For anybody who is still interested in avoiding having to put their DVD in every time, here's the work-around:

1. Install the game
2. Update to v1.2
3. Launch once to activate using your legit DVD Key/Serial. Then quit the game.
4. Now, find the original Razor1911 Crack which is literally only 30KB or so and replace the game executable.
5. Play the game!

Ignore what everyone else has been saying about Multiplayer not working with the crack. It works fine for me and you don't need a new crack for the patched v1.2 of the game.

Enjoy Far Cry 2 without the annoying DVD check!

^ I think that german crack (for game patched to v1.02), on same site, works with english version too (if it's patched to 1.02 of course).
