hey Charlie as a matter of intrest, how many copies can you get from a burner,and what are the signs of it comming to the end of its life, this is the first one ive had and i must have done at least 300 cds by now.

The important aspects of burning in the context of your question are laser power and calibration/alignment. You can expect your burner to last for many years so long as dust doesn't stick on the laser and it isn't chucked around.

Really cheap burners might work loose inside. Or any burner is at risk if you poke around inside like on the PS card/knife/cog swap trick.
