Question Whats the best chip for a V3 PAL PS2 ?

i got my ps2 on the first day of the pal launch.its model number is
30003
and it has an all metal expansion bay so it looks to me like a v3.

after reading charlie's posts it seems the messiah is a bitch to install in a v3 when it comes to the laser.would an Origa be my best option?.i just want to be able to play cdr backups(including 80min rips)and DVDr backups.i already have an Action Replay v2.

i know the Origa can boot originil imports but i heard it wont boot some(DMC & Silent Hill 2 us).so where do i stand?.

the messiah is not any harder to install than the origa. the laser problem is the same with ALL chips, the v3 is the oldest pal machine, and the laser is often worn out some already. the chip will still work fine, the only difference is that dvd-r MIGHT not work properly.
also, the origa will play all original imports. including the games you named.
messiah does all the origa does, just without any need for swapping and without having to buy an AR2/Region X.

if you never had a neo mod installed before, chances are good that your laser will be fine. I had the messiah in my v3 and it read dvd-r without problems.

i havent had ANY mod in my ps2 yet.thanks for the info .dont suppose theres any chippers in Ireland on this board?.i could send my machine to england but id rather find somebody to chip it in Ireland.

ps i could have sworn channel tech said that the origa wouldnt boot originil us imports of Dmc and Silent Hill 2 on the old messiah forum.
