Hi. This has probably been answered before, but I've gone thru every FAQ I can find, and none help... I'm really stumped on this.
Okay, first, my setup: Macintosh Powerbook G4. Plenty of RAM and hard drive space. OS 9.2.2 Internal DVD-ROM for reading, USB ZipCD650 for burning (works great for audio and Mac-format backups) Toast 4.1.3, came bundled with the drive. Playstation with Game Enhancer in lieu of modchip. Good TDK media. Now, my problem: Toast says it won't have anything to do with the CD-ROM XA format. Which is BS, because I've read plenty of FAQs that say you can backup Playstation discs with Toast! But if I try and do a Speed Check, I get an OS error (=100), and the stupid thing won't burn. Can anyone tell me a way to work around this? Some of my discs are getting really scratched up and worn out... Syphon Filter 2, disc 1, is nearly unplayable. I've heard there's a working demo of Astarte's CD-Copy 2.0 out there which allows you to save... Could anyone point me to where I could get that, since they don't give out a working demo anymore themselves.

Alright, after hours of searching, I finally got a copy of CD-Copy 2.0 that works.
But here's my new problem... When I copy the tracks and save, then open them in Toast, the program claims it's too much data for 1 CD. I'm trying to backup disc 1 of Syphon Filter 2, which is a single track... So there's no way I can see to trim it. Help?

And now it just made a coaster of Gran Turismo 2! Just barely started burning, and I get an error, something like "end user area" or something like that! Stupid Toast!

When you save the track(s) under CD-Copy, you should get a Toast image which you can open up by dble clicking and it sets the format automatically, CDRomXA, just grab and add the audio tracks (if applicable) to the layout window, do a source testing (if u want) and you're ready to burn...
(don't mount the image though). That should do it. Be careful to burn the physical image though, and not the image data file in Mac or Iso format CD, which is your source data, you want to make a PSX disc... |

scrap that idiot program and get cdrwin and also clone cd. if your burner can write in Raw dao 96 then you are in great luck, you can check in clonecd's supported writers section. anyway, if your not compatible then use cdrwin.
one last thing, burning on the fly is crap, you should never do it when copying psx games. if you have any troubles just ask for some more help. good luck |

Still not working.
Got thru a full burn of the GT2 Simulation Mode disc... But I don't think Toast is setting the format properly, as it not only won't play on the Playstation, but it seems to have just dropped the image CD-Copy made onto an ISO-format disc. Doesn't seem to want to do XA. Toast 4.1.3 won't allow me to manually set the format... Gah, this is depressing.
