Can't run MOHAA on Windows ME

I've recently tried running Medal Of Honour - Allied Assault on Windows ME.
The game successfully installed but when ever I try to run it, it hangs with the first loading screen on my desktop, (the one you see before it goes full screen).
Is there a problem with compatability?
My machine should run ok, it runs fine with RTCW.
Thanks.

Is it an original or back-up?

It's a backup, but there is nothing wrong with it. It works on my other machine which runs Windows XP. I tried using a no-cd patch anyway, but I get the same result.

Oh, by the way.... I have all the latest drivers for my video card and sound card. I also have ample memory.

I used to run MOHAA on ME and it worked fine. If you have XP on your other machine put it on your machine which you are having problems with. Only thing I can think of is that you haven't backed it up right, because Safedisc will make it hang up there.

What is the spec of your machine?

these are the specs of my pc:

Computer: Pentium 3
Processor: 866 Mhz
Motherboard: A-Plus AP-941
Hard drive 20 Gig
Ram 384 Meg
Video card; Ge Force 2 Mx 400
Sound card: Creative SB Live (WDM)

Turns out that Soldier Of Fortune II has the same problem with this machine. It's not a hide cdr-media problem cause I don't have a burner on this pc.
The disc is ok, it runs on the other machine I have.

I had a problem with my GeForce2 a while ago (I have GeForce4 now, much better) the problem was that the fan on the card was going round but it was just a bit stiff. So the computer would boot up and everything was ok but when I went to try and play a high graphics game like MOHAA it crashed. The card was getting too hot.

Take a look at your card and check if your fan is going around smoothly, if not thats your problem.

Tell me how you get on.

I had the same problem.
Try going to your internet properties box- Start-settings-control panel-internet options-connection, make sure never dial a connection it selected.

This should stop the freezing when navigating AA

I've tried changing my internet settings to Never Dial and internet connection. I've also had a look at my graphics card, there is no fan on it. I don't believe it is overheating either, as I can run Grand Prix 4 without a glitch, Return to Castle Wolfenstein as well. And besides, it doesn't get a chance to overheat, it hangs before the game is even loaded.

Your Graphics card has no fan! I'm sure it should do. Take proper look.

I think I know what a fan looks like. Not all graphics cards have them, and mine doesn't.

Try reading.
Like I said before..... I have a Nvidia Geforce2 MX400 64MB.

NOT ALL of these cards were released with fans, is this so hard to comprehend for you????

I had a GeForce2 MX400 and I concur, it doesn't have a fan.
I have a AMD XP1700 using WinMe and I don't have a problem.
My problem is I've install the no-cd fix 1.0 and 1.1 on my MODAA and it runs without a cd but when I tried to engage in a multi-player it wants a cd...any ideas? -Thanks
