Magic2 Chip

Hi,
I just got my version 3 ps2 chipped with a magic2. Now when I try to boot dvd-r backups and original dvd movies with the official sony dvd controller in they won't load. It is only after I remove the controller that they will load.

Can anyone help me please as I use my Ps2 as a dvd player aswell.

Thanks.

What is "the official Sony DVD-Controller"? Pardon my ignorance.

hi charlie,

it is an full remote with extra dvd controls like ff,rew, viewing angle, chapter select etc. it also incorporates all the normal ps2 contoller functions.

it works by putting an infra-red receiver into one of the control ports.........first you must copy files from a supplied cd which are copied to your 8mb memory card and then it will function fully.

it worked ok when i had a neo 2.2, only after i got the magic2 chip it stopped working.

hope this explains it well enough for you

Charlie i am guessing he is talking about the sony dvd remote. If this is the case then i would say the eye that plugs into the console is bad.... Dont know why people buy them anyway, You dont need them to play dvd movies.Sorry me and Asriel posted at the same time lol.
