Oh yeah, tell me. RS tries to validate the cd-key all the time, even if no internet-connection is available. Thus there's unbearable lag every 30 seconds. But sometimes this problem didn't appear, I can't really tell what's triggering it. Sometimes it also appeared after the game was running for a few minutes, this can be so bothering.
I was able to solve the problem, while every computer is connected to the internet, no lag appeared. But you can't always be online while playing in lan and this "giving a phone call home" behavior sucks. |

Well, the problem has nothing to do if the keys are valid or not (well, maybe it will work if the keys are not valid, I never tried that
), as long as RS can't verify them (which is the case if there's no internet-connection), the game lags. It lags like hell, it's absolutely unplayable because it can't understand that there's no sense in trying to verify the key as long as there's no internet available.

if I remember it right, its enough when the key is succesfullly verified once. it will change something in the ravenshield.ini so that you won't be asked for validation again.

afaik you don't need a key in lan-play, rash does not even ask for it. there should not be any i-net-connection to your lan and make shure there is no "gateway ip" in your ip-settings for lan.
worked for me. |

To Play in lan without the cd cheking you just need to delete two lines:
Open GSRouters.dat in the notepad and delete the two lines where it's wrote "CDKEY". It's a server adress and a port. Then just create a lan game and your lan friend can join

Does it work with the 1.6 version???
i bought the game , and in lan mode i get so many lags.... Last edited by mantra; 24-10-2005 at 00:20. |
