This sounds like a post that is 3 years old. Get a real mod and you will be set.

Your welcome. If you follow Bighaps advise you'll be playing backups without these problems.

No offense man,

Its just gets to be a problem when you're going about backing up in a rinky dink fasion. These methods like swap discs and the game shark method have so many holes that members just get tired of repeating themselves. Also they don't deal with them on an ordinary basis so its up in the air as to what the problem could be.

You'll notice that if you go about things the right way (although maybe a little costly, and still run into problems, the members will go out of their way to give you advice and instructions.

Like warlock has said many times.. a duoSE is a nice chip and not as costly as some of the ones with more bells and whistles. And dvd burners are getting very cheap these days.. Save a few bucks and a few headaches at the same time.. You'll be glad you did.

If you keep going with the gameshark method google is going to be your only refuge for finding solutions to uncommon backup problems.

Exclamation CD or DVD

If you buy the swap magic disks you get a cd and a dvd version. Tekken Tag comes on CD - so if the GameShark 2 disk is DVD then it might not like it cos it will probably load the PS2 DVD boot code.

To be honest if you don't have any soldering skills I wouldn't attempt a PS2.. They're not easy. Not like an xbox.. or even close. In your shoes i'd send it out to a mod chip installer (which I did).. There are a quite a few that post on these forums. You can check the mod chip installer review sticky if you want some ideas..
