What is in store for arcade games and amusements?

I still remember when I was a kid I always spend my weekend in malls doing arcade games. I love to hang around in arcade amusements and play my favorite games with my friends although I already have my Nintendo at home before. But as the trend of gaming consoles increase so as with the decrease of arcade games and amusements in malls or perhaps even vanish. It’s just frustrating because this is where all games started and it’s slowly decreasing. We might wake up one day that this place where we spend our time with our friends before is gone and never give a chance for other kids to experience the thrill and excitement of being in it.

Guys what do think huh? Do you still want arcades games and amusement?

Post your opinions here..

When I was young, arcades were basically like high-end PC's (of the day). I used to play them, but only because playing anything else at that graphical quality would cost an arm and a leg for a PC.

But now, I am never at arcades. I don't even know anyone who goes to em. They are just expensive, considering I could have my own game system in my house with similar, if not better, quality. Not only that, but online gaming is dominating the market right now. You just don't get as much from an arcade anymore.

Back then, the length of a game did not matter. Most arcade and console games took only hours to complete, or at the very least, several days. Now, if a game is under 10 hours, people complain. This generation of gaming is just spoiled; I don't see any of them going to an arcade for anything but previewing a future console game.

ps: on to general gaming forum -->

hehehe, when I was a kid it was all pinball machines!
I watched as the video games overtook the pinball machines!
Pinball was all about skill and control, the right bump here the right bump there, it was an art. Pinball will always be remembered by me.
I remember going into the arcades and where it used to be all pinball machines it became all Space Invaders and Galaxian.
And yes console games have overtaken the arcade video games, but I thats progress isnt it.
Every generation of children will remember something new and different about their own childhood and they will always have a different story to tell the next generation about.
