Panzer Dragoon "original" and "copy" freezes

Well my original version and my backup both freeze when starting the gameplay. It freezes on "Now Loading..."

Now I know a lot of people got this game to work so please give me your settings.

Like what dash version are you using if any?

What settings for the Dash?

What modchip?

What bios?

Is not a IGR (In Game Reset) setting causing this. It does the same with IGR enabled or disabled.

So if you got it to work like I said post your Xbox info and settings for the Dash as well as the Bios you are using.

I really need to figure out what is causing this since I believe the same thing is causing Genma Onimusha to freeze.

Xbox 1.1
X-Ecuter 2 Lite! flashed with the latest bios X2 4976.02
Latest Evolution X 1.8.3752

Does the original even work when your modchip is turned off? If it deosn't, you either have a sensitive laser or the game is scratched on a vital spot. There is also always a chance that the people who created the disk made a bad burn.

Well if I turn off the modchip I think my Xbox won't boot anyways since I used Evox to flash my Bios and for the looks of it it also flashed the TSOP.

Xbox Kernel version shows the same as the modchip bios version.

Also the backup version I tried was made from a different original version than the one I have. So I don't think that the original is damaged.

Someone who was having the exact same problem said that he fixed it by deleting the save files. However this did not work for me.

Crap this really sucks... Not even the original copy works. It has to be some setting perhaps.

Oh BTW about the sensitive laser. Well this also happened on my other Xbox I had which had a philips drive. This one has a Samsung drive. Also the other had a X-ecuter v1. Oh yeah and it also happens on my cousin's X-box which has a Matrix modchip. He is using bios Evox 2.6.

hmm, I have no idea what the problem is. If the TSOP is flashed as well, then I guess that kinda sucks because now you have no way of knowing if it's the bios, the dashboard, the disk, or the drive. Kinda sucks because it also means no xbox live

New findings...

How about this?

I put my Evox CD and Flashed the Bios with Evox D.6ef. Then using Slayer's Evox CD I formatted the HD and built the HD again which installs EvolutionX plus some useful utils...

The first thing I noticed was the the Bios was flashes as Evox D.6ef but also my Kernel was back to normal.

So having Panzer Dragoon ORTA on the disc I tried going to the MS Dashboard. And the game started. And for the first time it actually played perfect.

So then I took it out and put the backup and it worked perfect.

I then also tried going to the MS Dashboard and it works too. Before I could not go to the MS Dashboard.

However all this happened with the default evox.ini settings. IGR was actually on. So then I tried like 5 more games and then I went back to try Panzer Dragoon ORTA and it still was working fine.

After I tried a couple of more games and without changing any settings all of the sudden Panzer Dragoon ORTA is freezing at the loading screen again.

I setup the FTP on Evox and deleted the save files and the same thing. It freezes. I then put Slayer's Evox CD again and I did a full format and install Evox again but now it doesn't work anymore. The game still freezes.

How about this?

This just keeps getting weird.

At first it looked like it was a bios problem. And now what? Evox problem?

Is there a way to get rid of Evox and have the HD boot as default like when you have a modchip installed but no Evox Dashboard?

if you want it to boot to the original dashboard. All you have to do is get rename the original dash to xboxdash.xbe, or depending on your bios, remove evoxdash.xbe so the xbox will boot to xboxdash.xbe.

However, you should look for some original xbox bios, becasuase you might want to flash the tsop back to normal.

Heh is working again but for how long?

Ok here is what I did. I put the Evox CD again and flashed the bios again with X2 Bios 4974.

Then I checked and the kernel version does say 4974 as well. So I guess the X2 Bioses change the Kernel some how. I don't know if it is actually flashing the TSOP though. When flashing it says it is flashing the modchip bios.

Then I did a full HD format and installed Evox plus utils...

Then I tried Panzer Dragoon ORTA both original and backup copy and they both work perfect again.

This was with IGR on. Then I went to the options and setup the FTP and turned IGR off and then rebooted and it is still working perfect.

I have tried them like 7 times and it works every time no problem.

I also backed up all the partitions on the Xbox to my PC. In case it screws up again maybe restoring all the partitions as they are right now might fix the problem.

However I haven't run any other games right now. So there is a chance it might screw up again. Like I said before it was working fine when I run like 5 other games but after running a few more games the game would freeze again.

Now if it still works after running a bunch of games the only problem with this setup is that I need to patch the new games.
