Pacific Digital Good Also
Got a Pacific Digital 12X10X32 from Circuit City back in January. Only had to do a firmware update to support newer 32X and 40X media. Burns like a champ. Fully compatible with Clone CD all the way back to Version 2.8xxx of Clone CD. Would highly recommend their drives if on a budget. Cendyne's I hear can be a bit touchy. Same with the LG's--then again, a firmware update may be able to fix some of those issues as well. The LG's are now being put on the shelves in the local Wal-Marts. Got some good deals on a DVD read/CDR-RW combo drive for like $90 right now at our local SuperCenter in SC. Of course to future proof yourself, get a Pioneer A03/103 or A04/104 and snag a copy of PrimoDVD, CloneCD, and CDRWIN. You will (virtually) never fail, as far as I've seen on the forums.
Good Luck! Raist To check for firmware updates, check this sight out: http://www.firmware.fr.st/ |
