resident evil Outbreak

Hi,

My understanding was that RE:Outbreak worked under Mode3 with HD Loader.
But, on a new compatibility web site I found (http://ps2hd.com/list.php), it said it works with a patch. Now that I look on the HDL patch section on this forum, I see a patch for it. So, is it patch that works or Mode3, or is it both?
Also, if I use the patch, do I need to set the mode?

Thanks

that patch enables 3rd party hdd support when you run the game off the disk. you don't need the patch if you run it with hdloader, just enable mode 3.

If you run it off the disc, why do you need 3rd party HDD support?

Thanks
