Well, this does not look like anything other than a gimmick.
The following is taken from a review of this item - "With the release of the $289 Mini CD-RW, Archos is attempting to appeal to the mobile user. But from the get-go, problem after excruciating problem tested our patience and fortitude. From buffer underruns to software crashes, the Mini CD-RW proved itself to be one the most difficult CD-RW drives to use, mainly because of the included Nero Burning ROM software. The Archos Mini CD-RW may be the smallest thing to come out of France since Napoleon, but its troublesome Nero software and propensity for errors overwhelm any benefits from the small size."
