Really difficult!!!!

Okay, i'll start off by admitting I'm new. My point is that I've read so many replies saying to research more. So I have done this as I still continue. What I did find was a lot of information. What i need to know is just some clarifying things. Such as:

Does this work? I know it does or all this would be pointless but does it mess up?

Will it work on all DC's?
Has it messed up any DC's?

And the other questions:

I've realized you need a boot-cd so i got Utopia bootcd. I think you create this with DJ?

To copy games I know you need Iso, two files 1st something and a bin. This is where i get confused. Different people say to use different programs. I've read plenty of tutorials. Do you put in the game cd into your cd drive and then use these programs to get this stuff or do you use your writer to get them, then what do you do, just copy those 2 files?

If I'm on the right track as a newbie let me know?

I dont think the newewst dreamcast will play backup games ( i said the dc at 100$)
Me I played many at about 16 backup titles and i never having any problem. For the boot cd i use the clone cd version. it is very simple to burn with clonecd , you dont't need to put special option. you cannot copy games but you can take backup games from the net. the only way to backup games is with a special cable and a software like dreamrip (but it takes about 24 hours and more to rip a dc games so....) for burning backup from the net you need minimum 2 soft: DiskJuggler (version 2 the most possible) and CDRWIN (for old games). Disk Juggler extension is (.cdi) and cdrwin is .cue and .bin. For burning with cdrwin follw this setp: open cdrwin. and make a new cd, load the cuesheet (.cue) and burn. For Diskjuggler read some post on how to burn with disk juggler 2 because many people having problem with diskjuggler 2. And you need WINRAR for decompressing some archive (.001-.rar...). It all if you hade any other question post on the board.

I think you can also get a boot cd in the Nero format as well.

$100 for a DC console? Over here in the UK - where "Rip-off" is the name of the game - we're paying $150 for one...after the price reduction from $225. Sega did this RIGHT after Xmas, when everybody had forked out for their kids, only to be tld the end was nigh for the DC console.

Nice one Sega..

Happy burning :-)

in my opinion for the bin/cue games the best software that never fails is fireburner, and for the .cdi image format always discjuggler 3.0 or the latest one (never had any coasters with these two software programs yet)

get them at http://www.cdr.cz/software/discjuggler/
for fireburner get all versions just remove the discjuggler extension on the above link and you will see a list of all different types of backup software
