Additionally I was able to launch the program successfully without having to disable any security software (firewall active, AV real time scanner active, DEP protection on for all programs). As to whether the trainer works I cannot tell you (as I do not own the game). Your AV and firewall software may not be configured properly to notify user on detection instead of take action without user intervention.

FYI, Antivirus rarely stops trainers from executing, the reason trainer makers advise to disable AV and security software is for proper functioning of the trainer, not for execution. Almost all AVs block interprocess communication which is what trainer does, inject to the game (another process).
So the trainer would run fine with all security software enabled, it won't work though(the options). In fact LinGon trainers have some weird black-listing
mechanism in it that if you live in a certain country, the trainer won't work. Its all hidden behind the protection used on trainer (VMPROTECT) along with other stuff.
