i've had this happen to me with a bunch of images that i grabbed from the net (bubble bobble 2 was one of them).
what worked for me every time was using bootedit and giving the image a new boot sector. not sure why it worked for me, but your comment about the 2 x's on the white screen jogged my memory back to what i did to make it work. hope that helps a bit? |

I am having the same problem
I am having exactly the same problem with 2 of my games. I have only ever burnt about 10 games but both Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone and Monsters Inc both freeze at the black bootup screen.
What is the bootedit app previously mentioned. Is this something that modifies the boot sector on the image prior to burning onto disc. Where can I get it from? mavrick5 |

The Harry Potter game and Monsters Inc were given to me by a friend whose father had them. He was cleaning out the house when his father died and came across the games. He doesn't have a playstation so he gave them to me. The games are backups so I don't know what was used to make them. I have CloneCD v4 and Nero v5. If I copy the PSX disc to an image with Clone CD, can I then use bootedit to fix the problem so the game will work? Do I need any other software?
