Without the crack the game is fine, with the fixed exe I get an application error, and looking back into the event veiwer in WinXP it states (Faulting application seed2.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module speed2.exe, version 0000, fault address 0x001d2780). When using the mini-image the game begins to start just as with the fixed exe except without an error message box popping up on the Windows desktop, but as soon as that happens everything dissapears, the event veiwer states (The description for event ID (0) in source cannot be found. I just tested the game on another system and noticed that it works fine with the fix so I guess its just that particular machine doing it. I'm also having the same problem with Lego starwars, which does the exact same thing as NFSU2 on that system but works fine on another system. The system having the problems has a fresh reformat of Win XP and the latest updates and drivers for eveythng. The specs are as follows. Intel D865PERL mainboard with latest bios version P21 installed P4 2.6 GHz CPU BFG GeForce FX 5600 video card (256mb) 512MB system Ram (Dual channel) So now I know the fix will work but can anyone tell me what could be cuasing the same problem with those 2 games on that machine? All the other games I've installed on it seem to work fine for example GTA SA, Brothers In Arms, Scrapland, Flatout, Juiced, ect. |
