Question Supreme Commander 2 1xDVD5 CIUV2

Supreme Commander 2 1xDVD5 CIUV2
Thanks to Yener for script, Razor12911 for modifications
Fox22743 for original images used in SC1.

1. Install the game. Update game to latest version, apply NO-CD if necessary.

2. Download attachment, extract to HD, NOT in Gamefolder.

3. Run UltraARC, Browse/Select Your installed game, then choose output location.

4. Test the conversion, before burning ISO.

5. Then burn folder contents to DVDs with same folder name.

DVD1-4.18GB

When using commonly found pics from the Net then yes you are always going to find similarities between conversions. If a conversion looks similar to yours then you should take that as a compliment that someone thought your work was decent enough to refer too when creating their own conversions/installers.

It not like any of us here actually 'own' the pics used on the installers therefore none of us can really say 'it looks like my installer'.

And you need to make up your mind on something, its either an 'almost' ripoff or a 'complete' ripoff, it cant be both. If its a little like yours then its 'almost' which means its not exactly the same. If its 'complete' then it would be an 'exact' replica of your work, which this isn't.

Good to see you here tho Fox.

interesting point but should this taken as a compliment as well?
this WATCH_DOGS conversion is 1:1 copy of bamse's conversion where "created by bamse" was removed, same pictures were made a bit darker and poorly photoshopped (probably ripping off from temp files because not having access to source material). in other words, plagiarism should be considered as "compliment"?

that is completely true, we can't argue that but if someone took the time to create this conversion (same conversion as above as example) why hasn't he left everything as it is and just made a note "created by bamse, updated to latest version by me"?

same thing for Wolfenstein - The New Order. you (grumpy) have "credits" for graphics of that conversion yet that conversion is a plagiated version of revo's conversion with "revolution graphic arts" removed. i guess that should be considered as a "compliment" as well?

I am all for updating conversions to latest versions of the game when new update or dlc gets released but this is ridiculous. hogging the credits for something that you just modified, not created from nothing.

Without downloading the WatchDogs conversions and just going on the installer pics then again these are just images which are easily obtained from the Net, so you could say both conversions have plagiarised someone else's work just by using the pics in the first place. And my eyes are getting old but I can see a thanks to Bamse from pakrat, if that thanks was posted with the conversion or edited in later I do not know.

I was writing my reply before you edited your post mentioning 'my' Wolfenstein Installer.

Glad you bring it up though cause it goes brilliantly with your above quote.

I Re-Created Wolfenstein using images I found on the Net, the graphic editing was done soley by myself, things like adding the Nazi Symbol into the Moon was done soley by myself, nothing came from Revo. The fact it looks like Revo's is because he too just found the pics on the net. But his installer had flaws which I didn't like. (they are mentioned in another thread so not about to note them all again here).
It was also only made for DVD5's.
Revo was asked to make changes to his installer ....... he chose not to.

So I myself recreated the installer to fix the errors, fix the flaws and fixed the attention to detail.
I did not edit or modify an installer made by someone else!
At no point did I need to edit out 'revolution graphic arts' using photoshop from any of the pics I found online because it simply was not on any of them? Some lowlife must have added that to someone elses pic they found on the net and tried to pass if off as thier own! Oh the shock horror of it all!!

So No I dont need to thank anyone for my Wolfenstein conversion except for yener. Pics didnt come from Revo, photoshoping wasnt done by revo, actually for my particular installer nothing came from Revo.
As for not creating it from 'nothing', when I first created a Temp folder for the conversion there was 'nothing' in it. I stared with the pics from the net, found all the pics i needed and put them in the Temp folder but before that the folder had 'nothing' in it. Yes I did in fact start that conversion from nothing.

sure, it says that original conversion came from bamse and i could believe that images were obtained from internet and not modified from original conversion if not for bamse's logo being present in both and then erased from pakrat's. was it really nesesary to remove bamse's logo or what ever you want to call it?

i salute the idea of fixing bugs in the installer but recreating the conversion in 1:1 makes it look like complete plagiat.

simple comparison
revos autorun

your autorun

u can't deny that they look pretty much indentical the same. same autorun sizes, same button und language bar positions.

Images used in my conversion are MINE, can't be found on the net. They are combined from common gfx, multi-layered and distorted to match overall appearance. Even T-Bone on autorun is edited, becauce there is NO uncensored fuck you gesture on the net.

So FF... as T-Bone did... fuck you.

Well, in my oppinion then there is no need to erase a name out of the picture. Seriously, don't get me wrong, but, for example, if someone wants a DVD9 conversion of a already existing DVD5 conversion then there is a way to get that through external Setup.ini if the creator decide to not make these options, or? I think no one has a problem when someone comes up and post a Setup.ini file with dvd9/blueray/whatever options for the creators conversion (like i did on gatosky's Sims 4 conversion for example). Just my two cents.

hogging 'credits' WTF !!! Ive NEVER put my name on ANY conversion nor ever will. Don't need to feel that important that I have to have name in 'lights' for all to see. I stated that I made a copy of SC1 as close as I could match it, without having originals to go from, and that I forgot when I made the post to thank fox' for it was his SC1 that I based it off of. I DID quickly put the 'credit' to him as he was fine with that.

Its the rest of you I have doubts about. you don't like it here then leave & don't come back, simple as that. You start posting, bitching & whining about past issues, again quite simple, stop coming here go elsewhere for your conversions. Or make your own & put your name all over it for all to 'praise' you. I do this simply for enjoyment but if all you want to do is cry about them
then again go elsewhere & don't bother coming back. Sick of this BS

@Bamse
Well what can I say except to say 'sorry'. I have since taken a closer look at your Watchdog installer Pics. Yes I concede my previous comment was 'un-educated' and you have actually taken the time to construct those pics yourself using images you don't actually own. Before you jump on me let me explain and this is where that very 'fine line' is drawn when people start accusing people of stealing. You do not own THIS pic but it was clearly one of the pics used to create your installer pic. I can see the work you have done to the original pic to get it suitable for your installer by adding the 3D Box effect etc. At the time of looking at your installer pics I did not realize the 'small installer' image was showing in front the Background image. Hard to put that bit in writing but what I guess I am trying to say is I thought you had just posted 2 pics as one. I thought you had just layered the installer pics all together for preview purposes, I didn't realize it was actually how the installer looks when installing.
I don't mind admitting I was wrong and I am sincere when I say 'sorry' I was wrong with my original comment. You did create those images which pakrat 'borrowed' and has since thanked you for.
I did say this to 'fox' in a PM 'I don't think Pakrat is the type to purposely piss people off', I stand by that comment and think he genuinely forgot the Credits and added them as soon as it was pointed out.

First of all to Grumpy, I was not trying to stir up anything. I was having a bad day and seeing a conversion which obviously used aspects from my conversion without any recognition or thanks given to me was kinda the last straw in my already awful day. (BTW... The images were not "found" on the net as I know I had to manufacture some of those pictures myself as the image was nowhere to be found the way I wanted it).

Having said that, I do see that Pakrat later added a thanks to me, so everything is fine by me. No hard feelings and hoping the we can all just get along....

my apologies to you as well fox, I wasn't trying to be deceitful in any way, id asked you long ago to do supreme commander 2, so it looked identical to 1, but you never responded nor did it. So after a very long time I just replicated as best I could from your version 1. Yes I didn't at first put up the thanks to you, my mistake as it was in my notes to do so.

Like you I hope that end-users can just use the conversion version whichever they choose to use. Don't like them as I've made them then find another or make their own.

In fact this conversation between yourself and I took place on this site and a completely different site and as I do not want to cause any problems, I won't mention which one here.

On this one, you asked me to make a conversion for Forged Alliance and SC2. I responded that both were already in development and would post it shortly. However that never happened as some personal issues came up and I couldn't complete it at the time.

On that site, you asked for my original artwork for SC1 so that you could make an SC2 conversion from there. I responded by saying that I had lost all original artwork (and also conversion scripts). What you did not know is that I had misplaced all my games as well because of the same personal issues mentioned earlier. (I have been slowly getting them all together again)

Up until now I have not been able to make a conversion for SC2 nor do I find the time. I have however found some of my artwork which was backed up on an account which I had forgotten the password to until very recently.

I do apologize for use the of the word ripoff and seeming angry. I generally do not vent anger, but I hear it is very therapeutic and actually leads to a better understanding between people. (Eventually)
