How to run Splinter Cell Chaos Theory without DVD/CD ?

I've been trying to get Splinter Cell Chaos Theory running without the DVD/CD.

So far Starforce has won

I've tried everything incliding SF Nightmare, sfcure, and other things - none of them work for me.

Oh I know, I have to say a prayer to the game gods before attempting this - I missed that step.

Anyhow, nothing has worked for me.

I give up.

SF Nightmare froze my computer, gave me a BSOD and is general a dangerous program in my opinion - high chance of messing up your computer. I would strongly advise people to do a backup before attempting this. I've heard of some horror stories.

Just unplug your IDE. Its that simple. And it aint even that hard to attach/remove the IDE cable.

I dont want to physically disconnect my DVD drive.

Is there some other way?
